Before the car even hits the dealership lots, the new Dodge Challenger is commanding a muscular markup over MSRP. Buyers have hit the streets and are standing in line, waiting to pay up to $20,000 over the $40K sticker price! The Regular Joe just can't seem to catch a break in today's horsepower wars, with the temptation of a HEMI and a hefty price tag to match. With orders being processed (as of December 3rd), it doesn't really surprise us that the price inflation has occurred. It happened with the Shelby GT500 and it will likely happen when the new Chevrolet Camaro is released as well. Stay tuned, as we'll keep you posted on the Dodge Challenger and any related enthusiast news. |

The world now knows what the lucky Mopar buyers will shell out at the dealership for the new Dodge Challenger SRT8 muscle cars: a nice $37,995 (including destination). Starting December 3rd, dealerships across the country will start taking orders, so its time to get in line. A choice of colors (Black, Silver, and HEMI Orange) will be offered on the Dodge Challenger SRT8, and the car will feature the carbon fiber hood striping, just as weve showed you on the concept. The 6.1 liter HEMI V8 can be mated to either a 5-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual gearbox, resulting in 425hp worth of tire melting fun. Stay tuned Planet Challenger, as well keep you posted as the news happens! |

The 2009 Dodge Challenger will join in the 40th anniversary celebration of the 1968 Hemi packages by receiving an honorable treatment to a special Mopar drag package. The package is set to include a myriad of undisclosed race and off-road parts all centered around the premise of increasing the output of the latest generation Hemi V8 engines. Other accessory parts will be offered with the package to dress up the cars a few notches above average. Additionally, a limited number of Dodge Challenger Drag Racing package cars are to be produced. The clock is ticking and we are just as anxious as you are to hear more and more about this modern day Mopar muscle car. |

What happens when a newly reborn muscle car comes back onto
the scene? People get excited, fans go nuts, and those with too much
money look for the first pickings. Well, those of you with cash to
hemorrhage are going to be pleased; the first three (reborn) Dodge Challenger
cars are going to be placed on the auction block at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale,
Arizona.
There is not a doubt that these three SRT-8
6.1L V8 models are going to fetch a cute coin.
After several successful sales of almost every flavor of Shelby Ford
Mustang, Dodge hopes to draw in the heat-seeking moths to the auction house,
for the benefit of various charities |

With the release of the much anticipated Dodge Challenger, Chrysler has made a shocking announcement. The production numbers will now be more limited, and fewer will be exported to the overseas market. More importantly, the United Kingdom will no longer be getting a production model Challenger, instead, they will have to import the cars as a US spec car with left hand drive. |

The folks over at Inside Line have brought us yet another
slice of the new Dodge Challenger pie, and boy, does it look (taste) good! This clip exhibits the new concept test mule
and some great audio from it. The spy
shooters claim that there was definitely a V8 underhood, and its mostly likely
the 5.7 liter HEMI that will be offered for starters. The rest of us are awaiting the 6.1 liter
HEMI to satisfy our need for LSx and Cobra eating power. Take a look at the video by Inside Line to
get a glimpse of whats to come. As we
find more, well be sure to keep you posted! |
