Dodge Challenger Barracuda Concept

Rumors have floated all over the ‘Net about a new Barracuda that is to be based upon the 2009 Dodge Challenger.  Now, some images of the Mopar monster have now surfaced to dispel some of the doubt.  Found over on CarDomain, these images make sure it’s tough to dispute that Chrysler is looking into creating a strong aftermarket for the upcoming Dodge Challenger before it even hits the market officially.

A smoothed front end, projection headlamps, a sleeked grille, and a black shaker hood make sure that this car is noted and a force to reckon with.  Out back, the rear end joins in the updates with new taillights, a centric fuel cap, and a carbon-fiber decklid spoiler.  One peculiarity sticks out the most—the photos failed to capture any badging whatsoever, making this car’s brand an element of mystery.  In the past the car was marketed as a Plymouth, but since Chrysler has dropped the brand, it will be interesting to what the car might be stamped with.

Nothing official has been announced from DaimlerChrysler, so we can’t say for sure if this concept will hit production or if it’s just a one-off done to dazzle and intimidate the competition.
